I researched if I could upgrade the apu in my laptop and found I could if the bios was updated to version f23. I had version f22. So I updated it and got an amd a10-5750m apu to replace my amd a8-4500m apu. I was assured it would be a compatible upgrade. Laptop won't boot, caps lock light continually flashes and I have a black screen. Tried putting in the original apu and same thing happens. I could use some help please, thank you

laptops can be tricky when swapping parts, be sure you didn't miss any small ribbons or anything, especially with the display cables.

Did you reboot after the bios update to make sure it "took" and everything was working?

Who assured you it would be compatible? The best I could find on a quick google was a "maybe"

Yes it worked just fine after the bios update. I did this before I attempted the apu upgrade to make sure the bios took.
