I just got a new power supply. After everything was plugged in correctly I turned it on. The computer turned on but none of the ports worked (meaning every plug in thing on the motherboard and case). When it is on, the light on the side of the case keeps blinking red. If I plug in the mouse, the light on the bottom of the mouse flashes for a fraction of a second. I looked on many forums and people described the same thing except the flashing light and the answer was that the motherboard was broken.

It should power that system just fine. Was everything working beforehand?

I would return it and buy a quality PSU. You could have gotten a DOA unit.

I would also double check connections to make sure you didn't miss any plugs.

Everything was working before but really badly and the computer kept shutting off. I definitely plugged everything in (twice). I took out the ram and put it back in. I doubt that the PSU was DOA because this one was a replacement for a dead one. Also it turns on the fans and stuff, and the red light on the side of the tower is flashes so it has power. I think the main problem is the motherboard because the ports aren't working as I said. Also I switched out the CPU and it was hot so that is getting power.

It could be the motherboard then.
