Basically i'm in great need of help building my very first gaming PC. I have no previous experience and very little knowledge of how to choose my parts. I have given it a go anyway and chosen a build that sounds good to me but id like some words of wisdom before i spend a lot of money.

use an i5 cpu for the money it the best gaming cpu. use a z97 mb if your going to over clock or a h97 if your not. both will let you drop in a brodwell cpu latter on if needed. with a gaming pc use a 3 party cpu cooler the intel cooler is ok for day to day stuff but under heavy load it cant keep up with a larger air cooler like the the evo or others. with cases look at the layout of the case. the older cases have fix larger drive bays that limit the gpu leanth. the good cases dont have drive bays where the gpu go or the bay can come out. most cases will have one to two fans already installed in a push/pull set up. if your house is hot in the summer you may want to think of adding latter a fan or two on the top of the r300 case to pull air up.

Overclocking lets you get pass the rated speed of your CPU.
For example your CPU speed is 3.5Mhz - 3.8Mhz, if your CPU is capable of overclocking, you can overclock it to 4.2Mhz to 4.4Mhz.

But do take note that the CPU i listed is not for overclocking.
Additionally, the case is not good.

I will post another case that I would recommend.

PC Case: Zalman Z11 Plus ATX Mid Tower Case @ 49.99 EURO
