I've been trying to use LAN to connect with my friends on a game, but when I try to install programs like hamachi, evolve or LAN bridger, they have multiple problems.
For example, in LAN bridger, when I open it up it says "an error has occurred while trying to determine the latest version of LAN bridger." And for Hamachi it says "failed to connect to the hamachi servers. would you like hamachi to automatically monitor server availability and establish a connection as soon as it becomes possible?" Also Evolve won't install and it says "The installation URL could not be determined because the server request failed"
I have tried to use hamachi and the other LAN programs on my laptop and it works just fine, also I tried switching routers but that didn't work. So I think the problem lies within my computer.
Thank you for your time, please help me.

I use hamachi on my laptop & 2 desktop PC's. The laptop has had issues where limited wi-fi signal or flaky signal. When at home - I never have issues...

Are you using the same DNS servers on your laptop & PC?

Does the PC have issues connecting to any websites?

I just remembered something - do you have Hyper-V enabled? For some reason, when this is enabled, I wasn't able to get Hamachi or other VPN software to work on the "host" machine, but the virtual machines would work. It has something to do with the drivers for Hyper-V converting actual hardware to a virtual adapter. As soon as I disabled Hyper-V, I had no issues with Hamachi.

I am using the same DNS for my computer and PC, my PC has no issues connecting to any websites, also I don't know what Hyper-V is so I'm pretty sure I don't have it.

I found this on Hamachi's website:

Yep, I was right, it's a routing issue. The fix is a little tricky, it's like this:

1. Run an elevated cmd.exe (press start, type cmd, press ctrl-shift-enter, approve UAC prompt). Make sure cmd.exe window says "Administrator:" in the title bar.

2. Run "route print" and then in the first section "Interface List" find the leftmost number for the line that corresponds to the "Hamachi Network Interface." For me this was 20.

3. Run "route delete 0.0.0.0 IF 20" (replace 20 with your number from step 2).

That's it. Before I did this, I had a line in the "Persistent Routes" section that listed the hamachi interface handling 0.0.0.0 with default metric, even though the line in the "Active Routes" section listed the metric as 9256. I'm not sure what all that means, but Hamachi still works fine after doing this (I'm not sure why it would need a catch-all 0.0.0.0 route anyway).
