updating bios with unsupported processor?

I need help my processor damage. but my motherboard works. I want to buy ivy bridge processor but the bios is old. I can update it with an unsupported processor? the motherboard is a asus P8H61-m pro

Your board supports up to i7-3770K or i5-3570k when updated to BIOS version 3705 or higher but you will need a functional CPU in order to update the BIOS as it does not support updating the BIOS by flash without a supported CPU installed. If you know somebody with a CPU that is supported by your current BIOS version that will allow you to use it for updating the BIOS then you would be able to use one of the supported Ivy Bridge CPUs after the update.
