Asus dsl-N55U won't connect to internet

Title speaks for itself. Purchased myself a Asus dsl-n55u setup it all up and it won't provide a internet connection.
I'm with Telstra adsl2+ if this helps.
All help is greatly appreciated:)

this may not help but i will give you info on what has worked in the past for me as i am not a expert on dsl itself

these are fixes i have used in past. i know you said you set it up but just checking/verifying

1) some dsl require the router to clone the mac address
2) if memory serves me right you need to use set all the ip's for the gateway, dns, etc and not have router discover
3) some dsl require username and password and if not right will not let the router work

please do and i forgot that on #3 meant username and password of the dsl account, there should be a field for that in the router setup
