I am relatively new to building PCs, and this is what I've put together...

I'm particularly unsure of the PSU; the Newegg calculator told me that's what I would need, but I am feeling doubtful.

I would really appreciate any and all input, because it's important to me that I spent this money well and to feel good about it!

The raptor drive really needs to go you can buy a crucial m100 500gb SSD for 200 bucks USD
Look for a Seasonic, XFX, Rosewell Capstone, or EVGA G2 series power supply 550 Watts would run that PC just fine or up it to 750 if you think you will add anouther 970 for SLI in the future.

I think I will overclock the CPU, yeah! Thank you for those suggestions, they make a lot of sense. I will replace the smaller SSD and the raptor drive with a 500gb SSD, and the PSU with a 750 watt in case I decide to add a second video card.

I found the Crucial MX100 for the SSD

and the EVGA SuperNOVA 750 for the new PSU

Thank you so much for the reply!

Any other thoughts?

I'm wondering, also, in terms of the monitor that I chose: a lot of reviews seem to point to the 120hz refresh rate making a big difference for gaming, as well as the response time. 24 inches feels a little small for my preferences, but I can't find anything much bigger with those specs without shooting up in price tremendously. Do you feel like 120hz/low response times are actually that important for gaming?

edit: sorry, i ended up starting a new thread about the monitor!
