Sup guys/girls, I'm totally virginal to all this especially the hardware side of things so explicit explanations are welcome and even encouraged.

I did a fulish upgrade so both of these are new, I actually have no idea whether the motherboard has anything to do with anything but I saw a thread on here that I think might have had a similar problem but it was never resolved, B85M-HD3 is the motherboard btw.

Now as far as I can figure everything is properly plugged in, the GPUs fans are spinning and etc but the monitor has this block with the VGA plug (I had to google that) and a question mark next to it, like its not plugged in but it is. Without the GPU everything works spiffy, without it nothing. A friend fidded a bit with the plugs which he is much better at and played in the bios a bit but no deal.

So before I take it back I just wanted to see if there's something simple I can do to get it working. A driver update? Am I missing a plug? Is there some magical switch in the bios I can flip to get it working? Any and all help would be appreciated.

1. Have you tried connect the monitor direct to motherboard?

2. Try different cable or try the cable from different PC. Or use different port of graphics card HDMI/DVI..

3. Set your monitor OSD video input settings, VGA/HDMI.

4. Unisntall you graphics card driver and re-install using either cd installer came along with it or download driver from AMD website or your graphic card website.

5. Reseat your graphics card or put on other pcie slot.. ensure cables are connected properly.
