Can someone post a link to the both. Im looking to buy both because the hard drive I have now doesnt have much space left. Also when I get a new hard drive should I put the OS on there and download all my games on there and just use the one I now as a back up?

Here is the one I have now.

I just got it a few days ago and I got 230 GB left. All I have is games on it and the OS

More about : good ssd hdd

Hi there,

First of all I have to say that your current HDD is slow (5900 RPM).

HDD - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
SSD - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Have a nice day

SSD - Samsung 850 Pro http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

HDD - Western Digital Black 1TB http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Thats the best combo you can buy, performance and value wise, both extremely reliable with 10 year warranty (lol) for the SSD and 5 for the HDD.
Put the OS and whatever programs you use in the SSD (chrome, office, etc) - should be around 70 gigs if you have many programs like me (128gb is comfortable for a C: drive) - and create folders in the HDD to put your games (steam, origin, etc.), pictures, videos, drivers and whatever stuff that you wanna keep and dont have to mess everytime you need to format your C: drive.
Thats the setup i run too, plus an SSD to just put my games in. :)
And keep your seagate drive for backup as you mentioned.

you may want to read the news on Evo SSD niko suggested and make sure you got the new firmware installed before you do any other installs in case things go sour.

You're welcome mate!

One more question, should I just throw away the HDD I have now and just download everything onto the new one?

Install your OS and most usable programs to your SSD. All the other stuff keep on those HDD's.

Currently, i have my windows install as well as games etc that i need to work snappy on my ssd as the main drive. The normal hard disk drive i use for downloads and video content that i don't need super fast access to. The old hard drive you can drop into an enclosure case and use it as a backup for your important documents so you don't have to keep it plugged in.

WD Black is a waste of money. Hot and noisy HDD. WD Blue one with 64MB cache is okay (as alternative to Barracuda)
