Hybrid physx(Amd+nvidia) is something I know little about. It is hard to set up. It has something to do with the motherboard Bios. The x4 slot shouldn't make a diffrence since its not the main card.
Closet how did u sli two different cards? thought they had to be same model numbers?
They do have to be the same GPU, but with a dedicated PhysX card, you can have any card from Nvidia, as long as it's not slow enough that it'll actually slow down your games.
Just install your GTX 680 and in the Nvidia Control Panel, go to the PhysX Tab, you'll see choices to which hardware to use PhysX on, there should be three in the drop down box, CPU, GTX 970 and GTX 680. Choose GTX 680 and voila! Lol.
thank you zeus! youre the man! i owe u a steak dinner for the knowledge. i saw a list of some physx demanding games but im mostly on bf4 and watchdogs.... will i see an advantage on those? i see the witcher 3 will be which i will be getting. i see i will get a bump in metro last light
