Hey guys,

1st off I'm a bit of a noob when it comes down to over clocking but I'm not to bad (I hope)

OK so I've got my hands on the new Asus rampage V x99 mobo with the i7 5820k, could anyone with that spec tell me what strings to tweak in BIOS so I can get a solid over clock around 4.4/4.5

In good detail would be great as don't wanna miss anyfin! :)

Thanks,
Mitch

Use Asus Dual Intelligent Processors 5. Its part of the AI3 software that comes with the motherboard. Just click the button, sit back and watch the software do it for you. It will automatically overclock your CPU until it blue screens. Dont be alarmed when it does. Its normal. after it blue screens, your computer will reboot and have automatically overclocked the CPU for you.

I used the asus dip5 on my i7 5820 I have the corsair h60 water cooler and 4 other fans 1 front blowing in 1 side blowing in 2 top blowing out and the corsair on the rear blowing out. The dip5 after running set my over clocking to 4.6. My idle temp is between 35c and 40c. Is it safe for me to run my computer at this speed. Never oc before and thought using the dip5 would make it easy wich it did just want to make sure it's safe.

Yes it is safe. Your idol temperatures are perfectly normal but I would check your temperatures under load. I have the same CPU as you doand my temperatures don't go over 50 but I also have the H110 cooling it. As long as your temperatures don't go over 70 I think you will be fine

It looks like you got a really good chip. I think I read somewhere on the Asus website that only 30% of 5820K's will overclock to 4.6 with dip5. Mine goes to 4.4 which is supposedly what 50% of them will get up to. Wanna trade? jk
