My g/f at work has an HP w2338h monitor.
Info here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&docname=c01604006#N83

I have used 3 different monitors, all Samsung actualy:
1) http://www.cnet.com/products/samsung-syncmaster-923nw-lcd-monitor-19-series/specs/
2) http://www.cnet.com/products/samsung-syncmaster-245bw/specs/
3) http://www.samsung.com/hk_en/consumer/computer-peripherals/monitors/consumer/LS22C350HS/XK?subsubtype=series-3-led

BUT.....none look as good as her 4 yr old HP!! On her monitor, the colors are all very vibrant, glossy screen, as if I was looking at plasma screen or a great old CRT tv.

ANY recommendations as to what to buy if I want something new, that actually looks like that HP? I've looked at buying a used one, but I am always weary about buying something like that used, not knowing what you are really getting. Used they go for $90-$150.

Thanks.

Will those be like looking at a plasma tv or an old CRT tv?

I have been to both Best Buy & Costco, but both times, the monitors were not working (or connected) properly.

Costco: http://www.costco.com/Samsung-23.6%22-Widescreen-LED-Monitor-%5b1920-x-1080%5d.product.100121563.html

Its about as close as you can get. Contrast on cheap monitors is really really bad. Not to mention other issues like viewing angles being terrible with certain types of monitors. (TN, IPS monitors have very good viewing angles and usually have good enough picture/color quality)

This is the monitor I've got and if you can afford it I'd say give it a shot. http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-VS239H-P-23-Inch-Full-HD-Monitor/dp/B008DWITHI

Yeah, but looking at the images, they don't seem to be as "vibrant" as on the HP w2338h :(
