I just recently got a Samsung 65" Curved Smart TV model 8700 and the connection to my PC is driving me up the wall. The Win7 x64 PC is connected via ethernet to my Netgear dual band router. The TV is connected via WiFi at 5gHz to the router. I have been trying to stream movies from the hard drive of my PC to the TV. It uses something called Genie server which sometimes shows up on the TV and sometimes does not. I was watching a movie yesterday and about an hour into the movie (1080p 5.1) the screen went blank for a second and no more movie. I went into sources and it no longer showed the Computer. Took me about 5 minutes to play at the computer and the TV to get it back. Worked for another 30 minutes and did the same thing, not exactly sure how I got it to work again but it did and we watched another hour or so. Later I wanted to watch something else and it took me over an hour playing to get the two to communicate and see each other again. What is going on and how do I fix this?

I see there is a capability to stream stuff directly from one device to another via WiFi. Is this more reliable to not go through the router? Only problem is my PC does not have WiFi but I guess I could add an adapter if that would give me better connections. Thanks.
