Hello,

I've buy a new PC a month ago without a Graphic Card because I didn't have sufficient money back then. Now I am a little confuse and I don't know what Graphic Card should I buy...
My PC configuration is:
Motherboard GIGABYTE GA-H97-Gaming 3
CPU Intel CORE i5 4690 (4 core with 4 threads at 3,5GHz)
Corsair Vengeance 2x4GB RAM at 1600Mhz in the future I will buy another 2x4GB of RAM
Power Supply Corsair CX600M
Case Corsair Graphite Windowed Battleship 230T
HDD is an old one, I will change this one too when I will have more money...its a WD 7200rpm Caviar Green, 64MB buffer (if really matters)

The Graphic Card that I want to buy its from ASUS ROG, first is the ASUS GeForce GTX 760 Striker Platinum 4GB DDR5 256-bit
and the second one ASUS GeForce GTX 770 Poseidon Platinum 2GB DDR5 256-bit.
The price different its about 70 Euros, but the one that is chipper have 4GB of VRAM and the other one have 2GB of VRAM but have the frequents a little bit boosted. I don't intend in the future to go on SLI, I just want to keep a Graphic Card as long as a can, because for me are expensive and I cant buy the over one or two years later.

Thank you very much!
Sorry if my English is not that good :)

If you want a card that lasts then go ahead and buy the 770. It's better than the 760 so it will last longer. As for the VRAM, You won't need more than 2gbs VRAM if you arent planning on play games on more than 2 monitors

I'd say the 770 will last you longer than 2 years

I forget to mention that all the games I play and I will play it's on a TV/Monitor Full HD 1920x1080p, I don't have in mind to buy a 4K TV.
I understand, thank you very much :)

the gtx 770 is still faster than the 4GB 760
if you want something more future proof...like your post says
id suggest you get a GTX 970 at 329$
it is only slightly more expensive than the 770 and and performs even better than the 780
out of the two you chose id go with the 770
however 970 seems like the more intelligent investment since you said you dont upgrade too often

I see. I was thinking the same, to go for the new 980 - 970, but the price differents is to much for my budget. Now...I don't know where are you from, but I am from Romanian and as you say 329$ isn't much at all for you there...because here is 1200 LEI and that 770 it's 1600 lei :) ) and here that 980 it's over 2500 lei, from where I stand...it's way to much :)

Get the GTX 770. It will Ultra most games at 1080p for a long time.

Also your motherboard supports Crossfire but not SLI.

If you want the option of getting another similar card for Crossfire in the future, consider the R9 280X. It performs similar to the GTX 770 and should be cheaper if not the same.

go for the 770 then
2GB is more than enough
higher VRAM is required for multiple monitors

I understand, thank you very much for the answers :)
I know from the first time, when I've buy the Motherboard that was a CrossFire platform, but I've buy it anyway because I don't intend to go with SLI and I understand that it's no problem because the Motherboard it's supporting nVidia and AMD as well.
beni_rohit from where did you see or buy the 980 with that money? :)

And the 970 would be a better investment then the 980, Just like the i5 4690K and the i7 4790K, You'll get the same performance with the cheaper one rather than the other

WOW! There are more chipper Graphic Card there then here...I think from all over the Europe, not gust from where I live :)
Why are you saying that the i5 4690K it's the same or almost the same as the i7 4790K...that i7 has 8 instead of 4 threads and default clock 4GHz. I know that the threats are needed more in multitasking, I don't know if there increase performance in gaming, or how much that 0,5ghz per core make the differents...
