Right now my dad's computer has a new HD with no os installed. He wants Windows 7, but is determined to get it in one day waiting an extra day for a disk to come. He wants me to download windows 7, and then transfer it to his computer. Is this possible? And if so can someone please show me how to do it?

You can legally download and install the version of Windows 7 you purchased, from Windows 7 Forums.

Click the link representative of the version of Windows 7 you purchased. Burn the ISO to a DVD and then install on your Dad's computer. You will have up to 30 days to activate the operating system, using they Product Key you get with your media arrives.

As stated you can download the OS and install it

The dvd method is easiest, the usb method is fastest.

For DVD: you will need to use burning program like Nero/Roxio/Ashampoo (ashampo burning studio is free download) that can burn ISO images. You will need to select create disc from ISO in the menu of choices. You can not just drag the ISO file to the disk in windows built in burning program.

For USB: you will need to download the Windows 7 USB DVD tool. You can then select the ISO file and the USB drive and it will create a bootable flash drive with the OS on it. Many motherboards require you to do one step more then just select the USB drive in the bios; instead you would need to select the usb drive in the hard drive group and then select hard drive group as first boot device (then switch it back once computer reboots from the install).
