Hello, I have a vg248qe monitor connecting via display port to my R9 280 video card, and just today it stopped working after a system restart to update my OS. However, it's not the update that was the problem, as the monitor now can't find a connection even in the bios and startup.

I think it's probably the monitor as it's been off an on with display port in the past, but I also want to make sure it's not my new video card.

Are there any good way to tell which part is failing here? The monitor, the video card or the cable. I don't have another monitor that supports display port. I can probably bring the cable to have it replaced at the store, but I really don't think it's the problem as it's only 2 weeks old with no bends or cuts in it.

The only way to find out which part is bad is to swap them out for known working ones or possibly test on another system.
