Looking for some advice from the experts. I've narrowed my monitor choices down to three finalists.

About Me:
-Gaming only
-I don't play FPS much. I'm mostly RPGs like Dragon Age, Shadows of Mordor, Skyrim, and Dark Souls II.
-I currently have a single gtx 780ti
-I don't do movies or productivity.

My three choices are thus:

ASUS PG278Q ROG Swift
LG 34UM95
Acer XB280HK 4k Gsync

The Swift is regarded as the king of gaming right now but I'm not sure how much I'll use the higher speed with my gaming type.

The LG offers a genuinely different, immersive gaming experience but lacks gsync instead boasting an ipn panel.

The Acer is the most expensive option because I'd need to at least get another 780ti to power the thing. That said its not much more than the other two even including sli. The concern is that it is also only 60hz and I don't think the TN panel is as nice as the Swift's.

Thank you in advance for your advice!

I have the PG278Q. I used to have a high-refresh 120Hz monitor. I'd recommend either type of tech. I would never go with anything straight up 60Hz or less again because of how bad the tearing is.

If you can get your video setup to be 30fps or more at a particular resolution with a G-sync monitor, you're golden. For the Acer 4K G-sync, you may need 2-3 780tis to keep 30fps as your minimum for existing AAA and upcoming AAA games.

I tried to go back to 60Hz at various points and there's just no going back.

Once you get used to high-refresh or G-sync monitors, you not only notice tearing even more on the 60Hz or less monitors, but you are no longer tolerant of it.

Its a little funny. I'm in nearly the same place as you. I've recently upgraded to 970 sli and find myself in the market for a new monitor. Ive narrowed it down to your choices as well. My gaming haibits are similar without a single fps in my library.

If gsync is a game changer its the Acer. I haven't experienced gsync and have no idea if its worth disregarding just how sexy the LG is. In addition I've never gamed at 120hz and can't gauge the difference it will make in the sort of games we play. I will be watching this thread with baited breath.

Thanks for posting.
