I built my rig a couple months ago, but im starting to get really low frame rates on DayZ even when setting the settings to low. I'm getting low fps on every game i try and play, but DayZ is the most recent one i've played. I'm not sure if my GPU is the problem, or if my CPU is bottlenecking my GPU. I'm thinking of swapping out my motherboard for a Haswell one, and buying an i5 4460?
The motherboard i have doesn't have a 3.0 X16 GPU slot. it has a 2.0, i'm not sure if thats also causing my poor performance. My GPU isn't the best but i'm sure it can handle low settings with 60+ FPS. AMD Software recommends me to max out my games or set some high to increase optimization, but i cant even achieve stable fps on low settings lol anyway, i'm not sure what to do here, i don't wanna make the wrong decision and throw away 300+ on something i don't need.

Specs: AMD Athlon X4 750K
GPU: R9 270 2GB
RAM: 8GB

bohemia entertainment games rely on your cpu, and amd cpus are really bad for dayz, or arma, an intel i5 4460 is something you should go for, and get the asrock h97 performance, make sure you have something like a 650w psu to help with the rig

Your rig should not be lagging. You can check lots of things to find out your problem. It could well be software related. Have you tried checking task manager to find out if anything is using lots of resources? You could also try using benchmarking software. There are several free trial versions. Did you check your temperatures with cpu id or speed fan?
