Hello I was wondering how do I enable turbo mode in bios I got a asus sabertooth 990fx. Also does this mean i apply the thermal paste good I use a pea sized dot and pressed it down in made sure it covered half of the cpu before I tighten down the heatsink

Solution
Turbo core on a 6 core CPU will stick to mid-level when more than 2 cores are loaded. If just 2 cores are loaded, it should go up to the max.

Try using AMD overdrive and do all 3 stress tests on just 2 cores. 1 minute should be long enough to just observe load/speed changes. They should throttle up to max. try different cores and see what happens.

Turbo mode is usually on by default if you didn't touch any of the BIOS settings. You can always just reset the BIOs settings to default and turbo mode should already be on. Only reason why it would be off is if you're overclocking or don't want it.
