I have had a problem with my PC shutting down during games since I bought it back in 2010. It is an alienware (I wasn't aware of how much they suck when I bought it) with an i7 930 cpu and an alienware watercooler. I have replaced nearly every stock component (gpu, ram, hdd) as well as reinstalled god only knows how many times. Yesterday when I was playing I had little control in game (far cry 3) and my character continued to shoot his gun for a good 20-30 seconds. I have also had problems opening certain programs and other just really odd things. I'm thinking I have to replace the CPU and mobo, check out this video that I just took when my system crashed on far cry 3 and let me know what you think, all help is very appreciated. Thanks!

Can you post the components of the computer?
Especially the things you replaced

If you haven't yet replaced the power supply, and it is still the OEM one, I would start there.

Random strangeness is also a sign you need to wipe the OS and start over.

I have tested the PSU with a multimeter multiple times and have gotten nothing but solid results and I have also reinstalled a quadrillion times.

The firmware on the motherboard....

Dell often recommends gpu upgrades because it wont work with others.

Also the power supply... That thing is not meant to be used for other components.. Its a Dell thing.

So ideally I will have a new PSU, Mobo, and CPU by the end of this year, I do not however have that kind of money right now. Would you recommend I just not touch my PC just incase my PSU is frying my components? Or do you think that I should try to update the motherboard and try that? I just don't want to fry my good components. I would also like to state that this problem only occurs during intense gaming, I can do other less intensive stuff with no problems whatsoever.

As for updating the motherboard... I think it won't have anymore support for new gpu's..

The psu... Yeah replace that crap..
