100s of files on the desktop

About 20 minutes ago 100s of files from multiple folders showed up on my desktop...I didnt copy or paste anything. Has anyone seen this? I've never had it in all my time working and dealing with PCs.

get a antivirus such as avg ,avast or norton and do a virus scan as this is most likey the cause of it .. do so and if a virus is detected then clean them off asap
