I have a large brick home and wish to have wifi connectivity in the house as well as outside on the patios/porch. I've been looking at these three routers, and am looking for pros/cons for each from those who currently own them. Right now I'm leaning towards the ASUS based on what I've read, but before I drop >$200 on a router I'd like to hear from some others.

Thanks!

I would recommend the ASUS AC router *if* you have or plan to buy AC adapters for your devices. Otherwise the best course would be to get a high quality N router (ASUS RT-N56U or N66U for example). Take a look HERE for good comparative reviews where routers are actually tested against standards and one another.

In either case, with a large home and brick walls you will need a couple of wireless access points that will run on different radio channels to give you the coverage you want, particularly outside. Do you have or can you run Ethernet cable to distant locations of the house from the router location?

I am wiring my office (game room) for Ethernet, then was hoping to take care of the rest of the devices via wireless. We have a few tablets/smartphones and smart TVs and I don't want to wire every room with cat 5e or 6. I may have to check out the N66U. I always lean towards the biggest, sexiest routers but after reading that review the N56U or 66U would probably suit my needs. Thanks!
