remote desktop connection

Solution
Because you logged in remotely... This is normal windows behavior.
Its the same as logging off and letting another user log in.

If you want to Have you both on at the same time you would either use VNC or open a remote support/assistance session instead.

VNC is a 3rd party program you install: http://www.howtogeek.com/124849/how-to-remote-control-your-home-computer-from-anywhere-with-vnc/

Remote Assistance is built into windows. Google for instructions for whichever Windows version you are running.
