My Brother MFC-8910DW is physically connected to my PC and wirelessly connected through the router home network. About 90% of time when I hit print from my laptop it prints. 10% of the time it does not print.....but up to three days later all of a sudden it prints out the items it previously did not print!! I'm trying to understand why this happens (frustrating as heck) so I can prevent it from happening again.

Solution
Rebooting/shutting down wont clear the printer spool but something is definitely weird with yours. Which OS was this? 8? Perhads deleting the devices and their drivers and then reinstalling would help.

To clear the printer spools; Use the admin command prompt and type the following commands.
Net Stop Spooler
Del %systemroot%\System32\spool\printers\* /Q
Net Start Spooler

I have yet to find reliable wireless printing.
It prints 3 days later because that when you actually reconnect to the printer and everything that went to your print spooler will now print. To prevent this open your printer in devices and delete the items in queue (waiting to print)

Thanks for answering! However, when I open the printer in devices it always shows nothing is in the queue. And, I'm not sure what you mean "reconnect" to the printer - it is available 24/7.

Today, I rebooted both PC and laptop....turned the printer off for 10 minutes to clear it. When I tried to print a one page doc, it printed about 60 pages worth of stuff going back to August!!! :??: (That could be dangerous depending on what was printed and who sees it when it comes off the printer 2 months later!! :pt1cable: )
