Do make sure you select a mobo that is known to be able to overclock your Pentium, such as the one LukaBoki suggested. I disagree with his cooler choice though. There are many 120mm tower-style coolers on the market, and the Hyper212 EVO is a horrible bang/buck loser. It's not a bad cooler, but competitors typically get within 1C-3C (or match it with better fans), but may cost up to 40% less. The only people to whom 3C makes any real difference are the high overclockers, who probably need to spend 2x-3x the price anyway on a much better Phanteks or Noctua 140mm cooler.

The CPU is not "weak" it's an amazing value and great for gaming, no, its not going to be a big help in cpu straining applications like adobe premiere or sony vegas but its good enough to play games at 1080p, watch videos and browse the web, and is an amazing overclocker, all at the price of $60.

That was why I picked it I had seen MANY reviews on the processor and saw how good it was when OCed competing with the i5 and i7 in some cases

It will depend on the title. I have read recurring reports of horrible stutter in particularly demanding games when using a 3258. You can add clock, but not cores, so games that need the latter may suffer.
Fortunately, there are upgrades available for Socket 1150. To get a working PC built quickly within budget, the 3258 should be fine. You can always upgrade to an i3 or i5 later. If you can find deals though, getting an i3 may be a good move for some future-resistance, as games are beginning to use more cores.

Yes,it's good enough.Change the MoBo to ASUS H81M-D so you can overclock and you'll be good to go.
And get an AF(aftermarket cooler) for OCing the G3258. The Hyper 212 EVO will be a good one.
The H81M-D isn't on EBuyer how about the C or K version instead?

Get any MoBo that is mentioned here.

I was going to say...you may want to start out with a Z97 board then. If you don't, you'll need to buy a new Windows license too, adding another $90 or so to the price (unless you're a student; I think you can get it for $30 that way).but it is really worth it to get an K version of an i5 processor

i suggest get i5 4440 and 1x4GB now and later on add other 1x4GBAlso AltSquare, don't forget to look at AMD solutions as well, they arent that far off from Intel's quality and performance, It depends on what kind of things besides gaming you'll be doing on the pc but if you're just gaming, web surfing, streaming, that kind of thing, i'd say definately consider amd, we could also help you out if you want to tell us a price point, we could try to see what we could do with your budget and try to keep most of the parts you already have selected.

The components above cost about £450 give or take, also I have been looking at AMD processors and was wondering if either the FX 6300 or FX 8320 would match an i5 4440 in terms of game performance, the other things are secondary, but are as you labeled, the gaming comes first for this build.
What about a cheap decent overclocking motherboard wont that not just put the price to the same, or over, as an i5 4440 and an B85 MoBo and how about an after market cooler wont it just be cheaper for the i5 option instead?

Firstly, if gaming comes first than trust me you really dont NEED an intel processor for this build, and yes an overclocked fx6300 or just a plain fx8320 can pretty much match the i5 4440 in performance, and perform very nicely in gaming.

Well in terms of the fx8320 you wont really need to overclock to achieve the same performance, and a good aftermarket aircooler can be anywhere from 25-50$ but a motherboard that enables overclocking will not cost too much more. But honestly, for a budget build, I wouldnt use an 8320, if this is a gaming computer and thats basically all you'll use it for besides browisng the web and watching videos and streaming, a Less expensive processor than those two will be more than fine. You dont even need an fx series procesor, you could get a cheap athlon and still get good gaming performance.
