I cannot get my computer to see my iphone(4s) suddenly. It will not charge it either. I have updated windows, completely uninstalled & reinstalled itunes, I've done the "take a picture and plug it back in" trick. My computer just won't see it. I don't seem to have the apple device driver and nothing I've tried has recovered it.

I noticed in my device manager there are !'s by
other devices
SM bus controller
(hardware IDs from properties
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1E22&SUBSYS_1E221849&REV_04
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1E22&SUBSYS_1E221849
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1E22&CC_0C0500
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1E22&CC_0C05)

Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller
(hardware IDs from properties
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1E31&SUBSYS_1E311849&REV_04
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1E31&SUBSYS_1E311849
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1E31&CC_0C0330
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1E31&CC_0C03)

I cannot update them.
Other things work that I plug into my USBs. No USBs will see the phone. I really don't know what else to do here.

Windows 7 64bit Home Premium
Intel i5-2400
8GB ddr3
ASRock h77 pro4-m
nvidia geforce gtx 550 Ti

It would seem that either your data/power port on the phone is the problem, or your cable is. Have you tried the iPhone with another cable or with another system?

Hi,
The phone connects fine with the same cable to other computers or the wall plug. I have it charging with the same cable from the wall right now.

Do other devices work properly on the original system? Across all USB ports?

Yes. I have USB headphones that are working fine. USB mouse and keyboard. I also have an e-cig that charges via USB ports that works fine.
I have switched them around and tried the iphone cable in every port, none see it. I have tried this with 3 cables, and they all work elsewhere so I am thinking it has to be a computer problem.

Do you have another admin account on your system? If so, can you see the iPhone while logged into that account?

Trying to determine if you have a registry problem.
