My connections/pieces:
- ROUTERS: ACTIONTEC R1000H & D-LINK DIR-657 MEDIA ROUTER
- MODEM: ACTIONTEC R1000H

- ISP: Bell Aliant (Fibre Op 80/30)
- Connections: 4-15 (varies from laptops to tablets to cable boxes to switches to phones)

My goal: I want to be able to turn the Actiontec R1000H into a modem only and have all routing functionality done by D-Link router.

Reason: The actiontec is not strong as a router and the interface for customizing is awful. The range on the D-Link is better within my house (when I had them nested).

I believe I'd benefit from using the D-Link Media Router for streaming as well (even if this isn't the case I'd still like to bridge the Actiontec).

So, my question: Can someone please direct me/instruct me on how to take the actiontec R1000H, disable it's "routing features" and connect the D-Link DIR-657 to it to act as the sole wireless router in the house.

Available to provide more details - just not sure what else I need to provide.

Thanks in advance.
