sata 3 hard drive

my HP laptop hard drive is no longer working so I am replacing it. I am going from a sata 2 320 gig to sata 3 750 gig. Both are WD brand. But all I get when I try to down load windows 7 is no bootable device

Ok so its probably not an HP DVD because as far as i know HP doesn't give Physical Media out unless you order it. What kind of laptop is it exactly and what kind of windows disk? Sounds like the disk may not have the correct drivers to read the hard drive.
