I bought a Dell refurb 2710 with it's glorious 1440p screen. When I found out that I can't use the HDMI input at 1440p resolution with the gaming rig I'm going to be building I'm at a loss of what I want to do. Sell the AIO and buy another 1200p/1440p monitor is one option but it seems like a waste. I have an entire system for the cost of what a good 1440p goes for. I'm not interested in the Shimians...

What I don't understand how is the integrated chipset on the 2710's motherboard is able to display the full resolution of 1440p? Is it some type of DP connector? How hard would it be for me to be able to get an adapter to connect the monitor cable end that goes to the motherboard to the gaming card (7950) on that rig? Is this possible?

Any insight is always appreciated!
