Corrosion on Alienware M14x R2 motherboard and how to fix it

Hello all,

I've had the misfortune of my cat barfing on my laptop while it was open. The barf seeped through all the way down to the motherboard. I took my laptop apart per the Alienware YouTube video but when I got down to the motherboard, I saw corrosion. Now it's only slight but I don't know where to go from here. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

try cleaning it. use a medium soft paint brush to brush it then a contact cleaner. after that...check your motherboard if it's still ok.

Rubbing alcohol, and a toothbrush would be my recommendation for immediate cleaning. Contact cleaner is a good suggestion if you live near a retail computer store, but that would be after getting the worst of it off.

Thank you both! Any particular % of alcohol? And any particular brand of contact cleaner?

70% isopropyl alcohol as for the contact cleaner...any brand but make sure it can be used for electronics..some contact cleaner is not for electronics....after that let it dry for about a day or two...then test it.
