This is the most frustrating thing ever. I have 1 mic that i used to use all the time with my old laptop before i built a gaming rig and it worked perfectly and how it should. This one was just an out of the box plug into usb and headphone jack and bam it works, so there was no problem. Now the only thing that works is the audio, and i cannot speak through the mic. My cpu just doesnt pick up my voice. Ive made sure it was default device, ive raised the boosters all the way ive done everything i could but nothing. So my brother gave me one of his old ones which ive seen him using perfectly fine before. This one is a mic+headhphone jack one. I plug it in and just like the other one it only picks up the cpu's audio. However, this mic does pick up my voice, but only if i put it infront of my mouth and blow really hard. When i do that it just makes a wierd shrieking noise because of the air. This is so frustrating because i want to be able to use skype and teamspeak and etc again but i just cant. Any help would be greatly appreciated & please try not to give me answers like "maybe its muted" or "sound settings and make it default" trust me, ive spent near forever trying to see whats going on. Ive tried both front and back USB ports and pretty much everything I could possibly think of. If it means anything, the first one is an afterglow wired headset which was basically plug n play and the one my brother gave me was a cyber acoustics (not sure of exact model because it doesn't say) and my mobo is a GIGABYTE Z87X-D3H
I play alot of pc games and as every day goes by I continue to see how much better my experience would be if i could just talk in-game instead of getting killed because i'm trying to type my teammates something
Thank you
