So currently I'm running on a 9950 BE Amd x4 and I'm trying to switch to an after market cooler, unfortunately when I installed the Hyper evo 212+ I hit a snag with the 4 pin connector it comes with and the 3 pin on my mobo. I read that you could plug it in anyway and that it would be on max, however when I tried to turn on my PC I hit a cpu fan error message and the computer shut off. Despite the fact the cpu fan was running. Then I installed the stock fan and everything was fine. I tried going into the bios to disable the error message however I didn't have the option to do so.

The board is an
MSI Apen (Am2)

Currently don't have the money for a mobo/ram/new cpu

you need a 3 pin fan to molex adapter

Really confused as to what you mean by that. I looked up molex adapters and they don't seem to plug directly into the mobo and adapt it to the fan.

Will my mobo register it? Cause thats why it wasn't working before.

Case fans work as good as cpu fans?

lol no the motherboard header does not care if cpu fan or case fan is plugged in only something is plugged into the 3pin m/b header. with the controller you can use the evo as intended with even more control than the m/b would allow.

the only difference is the temp sensors in the cpu does not control the cpu fan speed but the case fan speed
