Hello.

I have an HP Probook 4720 running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit.
For some reason I am having an issue with my sound. The sound works with speakers, headphones, and the internal speakers. However, it only works when I manually go through a process. It's not setup to work on its own for some reason.

I login to Windows, no sound. Login to my account, no sound. What I have to do is right click the speaker icon -> recording devices -> right click rec. playback -> choose properties -> hit the listen tab. Then where it says "playback through this device" headphones is selected by default. However I have to change it to speakers, hit apply. Then change it back to headphones and hit apply for me to hear sound through the internal speakers.

This is the only way I can get the sound to work. And it working at all tells me that nothing hardware related needs to be replaced.. so there must be a setting or something that's not configured correctly. I have tried the troubleshooting for WIndows 7 and also downloaded the Microsoft fix it and they both say everything is working fine. I also uninstalled and reinstalled the audio drivers found on HP's site. (IDT High Definition Audio)

I guess it's not that serious of an issue since I can get the sound to work. But it's a pain having to manually enable it every time I start the computer. Can anyone help?
