i have an external WD Elements Hard Drive that is 1 TB

I used another cable and the problem was solved
then i dont know what happened
suddenly when i try to play a video from it the player just give not responding and the whole computer goes crazy
sometimes i start playing videos and everything is fine and suddenly i get the not responding crazy case
i tried to perform a check disk from windows but it didnt work it just stick at some point and never moves although i left about 8 hours !
last thing i tried is to copy the content to another HD but the copy just stops at the begining and never moves !
i dont know what to do and i have really important stuff in this HD that i want dont want to lose ! so is this a bad sector or what ?

Solution
Hi there ahmedkazzaz,

Issues related to slow responsiveness may be related to bad sectors. I would advise you to test the device with WD's Data Lifeguard Diagnostic tool. This may show you what the problem is or at least give us some hints. Most probably there will be no difference but it will not hurt if you attach it to another computer in order to rule out some driver or port issues lets say.
There is one last thing you may want to try but keep in mind that this will void your warranty. After you have tried everything else, you may try to take out the HDD out of the enclosure and try to connect it internally via SATA.

Hope this will help,
