No, it does not work like that.

What DVD burning application are you using?

Of course it's all wrong dude. To burn something on DVD you need a burning software, (PowerISO, or Nero)

I prefer Nero that it's easy to use and fast.

You can't drag something into DVD Window it's not an SD card or Flash Disk.

Watch this link for how to burn using Nero :

Need burning software - check!

Ok, I have Nero on an older XP computer, which I have used many times to burn music CDs, and data DVDs with no issues. So I took the .iso onto that computer, and dragged it into the Nero "add files" box as I always do. The .iso burned to the disc no prob - but that's not what I need, so I am obviously going about this the wrong way.

The .iso is Kaspersky's Rescue 10, where you make a bootable disc. I downloaded the .iso, thinking I could just make a bootable disc from it, but again, I am missing something. Do I need to unpack the iso first? I have MagicISO on my other computer - do I need to do anything there first? Thanks!

"Burn ISO image" (or words to that effect)

An ISO image is a full representation of what should exist on a CD.
However, it is also 'just a file'.

If you just copy that ISO to the CD, it will not boot.
