Hello, hope everyone is well.
So I ordered a computer a while ago and the HDMI plug-in didnt work so I looked around on the back and started using the one that goes directly into my graphics card. It hasn't made any changes or anything noticeable but I was just curious if it wears the graphics card out faster if I use it to be my monitor output. I dont know how to word it.

If the graphics card is plugged into the motherboard and power supply it will use power regardless of whether or not you are using it to output to your monitor. Graphics cards usually last in increments of years and it depends on the clock speed and voltages.

Your monitor is supposed to be directly connected to your graphics card. Wear and tear will be dependent on heat dissipation. The hotter a card gets and the longer it stays hot will likely decrease it's life span. The longer and faster the cooling fan has to spin will wear out the bearings sooner, but under normal usage, today's cards will likely outlive their usefulness.

So, it sounds like you had the monitor plugged into the integrated graphics port and your card was going unused till now. If it hasn't increased performance in gaming then something is very wrong.
