i think to buy a i7 4770k but the specs from intel's web page says that supports only DDR3-1333/1600, Can i use a 2400MHZ and the cpu can work with all 2400MHZ

My motherboard supports the 2400MHZ but i have the question about the cpu because if the can work my pc at 2400 i dont need to buy a ram with that specs

Solution
Yes, the 1333/1600 only means you can just slap that same speed stick into your motherboard and not worry about configuring it. While anything that is faster you have to go into the bios and either enable the XMP profile or manually tweak everything yourself.

+1 thought depending on your individual CPU you may need a slight OC on the CPU, not all can carry 2400 a stock settings for the CPU
