hi everyone, thanks for helping me out,

I bought a second hd 7970 ghz 3gb sapphire i am only running a 1080p display,
and i get crappy performance, its the exact same as with one card, msi afterburner tells me that both cards are running the exact same load, which i thought was weird, the top card is always the hottest, and the bottom cards temp is really low, neither card uses 100% load, i thought it was a cpu bottleneck so i OCd my cpu and did not get even 1 fps increase, i get the same fps as with one card,
also i would like to add that i didnt even think my one 7970 ghz was performing the way it should be, thats why i got the second card,
this is my build

650w corsair
AMD fx8120 8 core
2x AMD hd 7970 ghz 3gb sapphire
16 gb ddr3 1600 ram
250gb SSD (with os on it)
crosshair v formula(not formula z)

i was havving problems when i first got it to show the second card to allow crossfire, i had like 5 crossfire bridges, all of them had never been used, and i found only 1 made it show up on CCC for me to enable crossfire, what i am thinking is that while crossfire is enabled it is not utilizing the second card even though it is showing load, but it is always EXACTLY the same load as the first card, not even 1 percent difference, from what i know is that it is supposed to fluctuate, i think that it is just coppying the load of the first card and the second card isnt even being used, but it says it is.
i am really mad because i always get these type of impossible problems that i cant figure out, i have the worst luck with this stuff,
I bought a 1000w psu but havent installed it yet, do you think that could be the problem, my 650 isnt enough, but i did a power supply calculater and it said it should be, please help me would be supper apreciative.

also here is a 3d mark score page i did after i got second card working

If your monitor only has a 60hz refresh rate, You will never see more than 60fps anyway. What is the refresh rate of your monitor? Most are either 60hz or 120hz.

Thanks, lol. 20fps is practically unplayable. And I have to admit, that with two 7970's in sli, You should be able to max out every game at 1080p that is out right now with all of the eye candy that you could ever want with amazing frame rates.

I would test each card one a time. Run "Furmark" with each card and stress test it for 20 minutes each. Then maybe, We might find if one of the cards has an issue in itself.

hmm i just DLd furmark, it says, detected GPUs(AMD crossfire enabled, 2 GPUs) but under it it lists the gpus
GPU1: AMD radeon HD 7970, GPU: 36 degrees
GPU2: not available

how weird is that? says crossfire is enabled but no second card?

I would put one card in the computer and remove the other one when I run the tests. Switch cards, and then run it again. I know it is not fun to have to keep uninstalling and reinstalling components, but it might help here.

I would also also uninstall and reinstall the drivers. I would clear out all drivers before reinstalling new ones.

Ok I'll use driver sweeper n try that but do u think I should try installing my new power supply. Maybe I don't have enough juice to rin the other card? Btw Ty so much for ur time it is appreciated

so i ran both the cards, both used 100% load when they were by themselves, still having the problem with crossfire, all of my bridges except one dont let me enable crossfire, but the second card still isnt being used, i installed the new psu, tho no difference
