I have an old wireless router (BEFW11S4 V4 firmware 1.45.3) that I have been using as just a router for many years (antennas even unplugged). Now I would like to activate the wireless but noticed in the setup screen that it uses WEP. Should I still use this old wireless router?

Thanks for answering. I noticed that the screens they show in that downloaded manual don't look like the screens that I see. Perhaps that is due to my firmware version being old but I haven't figured out how to get a newer version. When I tried on the Linksys website it says no download available perhaps due to how old this router is.

That is too bad. Seems none of the 3rd party firmwares will work with it either. Might just be time for a new router, my friend, to be safe (or disable the wireless on this one for now).
