I've had my computer since November 2008. Last night, it froze while I was trying to shut it down and I had to turn it off by holding down the power switch. This morning, I was unable to get on Skype, I kept receiving an error message

"Skype.exe - Corrupt File

The file or directory C: is corrupt and unreadable. Please run the Chkdsk utility."

I've uninstalled, reinstalled, ran every solution presented on the website, and ran the Chkdsk utility multiple times. A friend of mine was attempting to help and suggested I run a Spyware/Malware scanner, which gave me the same error message. Everything else I have attempted to run today seems to be working fine.

My operating system is Windows XP (Version 5.1.2600)
