I'm putting together my first Intel system and first water cooled system and so am... totally lost. Decided to go with this mobo and this water cooler. Which brings us to my questions:

Question part 1) did I screw up my choosing? If so please let me know, because I am new in this world.

Question part 2) I noticed that the Water 3.0 has an attachment bracket for an LGA 2011 socket whereas the Asus X99 Deluxe has an LGA 2011 V3 socket. My god and holy master Linus from LinusTechTips says this is okay because they have the same mounting mechanism EXCEPT that some new motherboards have a larger cooling brick and so need smalled coolers. Is my mobo one of these?

1. No

2. LGA2011 is the same as LGA2011-3. The CPU socket though uses more of the pins in v3. So the mounting is exactly the same for both. Linus is right!
