Hey everyone, I am building a new pc and am on a tight budget ($800). I am trying to figure out where to invest my money most.

I have decided to forgo the ssd so that I can invest the money in other parts.

I currently am thinking of doing this (prices for Japan):
i7 4790k ($350)
z97 sli ready mother board ($130)
600w corsair bronze ($70)
1x8gb ddr3-1600 ($83)
bluray drive ($65)
windows 8.1 ($120)
zalman z3plus case ($45)

I don't game.

I do a lot of photoshopping, video editing, but simple stuff like cutting scenes, audio synching, text, etc.

I'd like to learn to do stabilization and green screen stuff. Stuff I don't think is too intense.

I might also like to learn to 3d effects on Aftereffects and design on solidworks (maybe autocad).

However this would be purely as a hobbyist wanting to learn more about this stuff. I probably won't go into deep, and definitely won't be doing tons of projects. Just a few here and there.

While unlikely, I'd like to be prepared in the case that I start using them a lot and do tons of work in them.

I just want something fast enough, that will leave possiblities open for me in the future should I decide to start doing more intensive stuff.

I'd love to save money and go with a i5 4460 and a h97 motherboard (it would save me about $220) and maybe buy an ssd.

Anyways what are your recommendations?

Should i spend less on the processor and by a gpu? maybe ram? Maybe i don't need any of it? I'm not hardcore like you guys, I'm just an enthusiast who likes to dabble in many fields, enjoys photography, cinematography, and making music on a pc.

Thank you. よろしくお願いします

Usually i5 4690 is sufficient for everything . A dedicated graphics help a lot in rendering (and gaming ) . So , within the budget i suggest

CPU i5 4690
mobo Asrock H97 Pro4 or Asrock Z97 Extreme3 (SLI)
GPU GTX 750 ti or R9 260X , which depends on what video card you need - Geforce (CUDA cores) or Radeon( OpenGL)

e.g.

If you aren't going to game and you're just wanting to do some photo editing and some autoCAD, you're going to need a good CPU. The 4790K is a very good start. Also, the more RAM, the better your speeds will be when rendering. Let me build a list for you.

*EDIT*
This build should do you good man.
