I have a dlink DIR 655 router, a dlink DAP-1522 bridge/AP, and a trendnet n450 AP. I want to set it up so the dap is providing internet to the n450 through ethernet. The dir will be giving internet to the dap. Sorry if this doesnt make any sense i dont know networking that well.

Currently i have it set up and you can connect to the network from the new ap, but it gets stuck at identifying on windows 7. On ipod i can get past the password then i just swirls forever. If you need anymore information please ask i will respond as fast as possible

Thanks for any help in advance.

If I understand correctly, you have a cable modem that connects to the dlink DIR 655 router via ethernet. You are running wireless from the dlink DIR 655 router to the dlink DAP-1522 bridge/AP, and then ethernet from dlink DAP-1522 bridge/AP to the trendnet n450 AP.

In this scenario - the dlink DIR 655 router should have DHCP enabled - the other two should have DHCP disabled. The dlink DIR 655 router will control assignment of all IP addresses.

On the dlink DIR 655 router, you will need to reserve IP addresses for the dlink DAP-1522 bridge/AP, and trendnet n450 AP. This can be accomplished by entering the MAC addresses of these two devices into the IP reservation table. You will then need to connect to each device and assign them...

This can be accomplished by entering the MAC addresses of these two devices into the IP reservation table. You will then need to connect to each device and assign them that IP address.

The dlink DIR 655 router should be 192.168.0.1
The dlink DAP-1522 bridge/AP should be 192.168.0.2
The trendnet n450 AP should be 192.168.0.3

You need to tell the dlink DIR 655 router to utilize 192.168.0.10 to 192.168.0.255 as available IP pool. This gives you a few reserved IP's if needed.

You should also set different SSIDs on each router (i.e. ROUTER_MAIN, ROUTER_BEDROOM, ROUTER_GARAGE or something similar) so you can troubleshoot connectivity if needed.

When i plug the bridge directly into the router and the ap directly into the bridge it works fine if this helps. I have static ip address for the ap and i dont know for the bridge, how would i make sure that the bridge has DHCP disabled?
