10-10-10-27 and 11-11-11-28

I bought 2 8 GB DDR3 ( 1600 MHz) . One is of 10-10-10-27 and other is of 11-11-11-28. I think 11-11-11-28 works fine and is detected by system. I have existing 4 GB of 12800 ( S-11-11-F3) which is working with 8 GB. Should I change 10-10-10-27 8GB to 11s ?

the lower the number, the better. 10-10-10-27 means it has a CAS latency of 10 or CL10 and a RAS latency of 27 or RL27. Its how fast it takes to read data. It'l work fine either way but the higher the number is, the slower the RAM is.

Thanks for the reply. If I place 2 8GB o PC, One of them is not detected by system.

Oh sorry its late and I didn't answer your question. The answer is you can't do that. The RAM must me identical in almost every way for them to work together on one channel. For example, you might have 2 RAM slots in one color and 2 in another color (I'm assuming 2 black slots and 2 blue slots.). If you put 2 different RAMs in the two blue slots, something wont work because you're putting different RAM on the same channel. Instead, Put one in the black slot and one in the blue slot. That way they should work independently of one another and not mess up. That would be called Single Channeling which is slower than Dual Channeling. Dual Channeling is when you put 2 identical RAMs on the same channel.

If that doesn't work, double check to see if the RAM is seated correctly in the motherboard.

**** Note dual channel is a stick in each channel (hence dual) using both channels....normally in slots 1-3 or 2-4, the slots for channels are color coordinated i.e. 1-3 may be black to help the user identify which slots to use dual channel, filling the other slots in addition, remains full dual channel in a dual channel mobo like 1150, 1155, AMD rigs
