I bought 2 more sticks of ram a month or two ago and installed them in my 2 extra slots. I tried booting up my computer and it would turn on once, show my mobo manufacturer screen, then boot down.

After the first boot, it would keep shutting off and starting up, but not show the mobo screen again.
This would happen until power was cut off from the pc.

I was very frustrated with this so i left my computer for a few hours, came back, gave it one more shot and it booted right up, checked system settings and it correctly displayed 16GB of RAM.

Worked well for a few months and now its happening again. I removed the 2 sticks I had installed earlier and it booted immediately, so this is definitely the issue.

Could it be an issue in the bios or would extra ram push my power supply more?

My specs are as follows:
Mobo: GIGABYTE Z68X-UD3H-B3
Processor: Intel i7 2600k
Memory: 2x4GB: Hyper X ram (other 2x4GB sticks are also Hyper X ram)
PSU: 760w
GPU: Nvidia GTX Geforce 760

I dont really want to settle for 8GB because the RAM was so expensive, is there any way I can get this to boot and what do you think the problem is?

More about : computer boot 2x4gb sticks 4x4gb sticks

Are the RAM exact make/model matches? If they have different timing setup or speed, there could be issues with them being compatible with each other....

No they are not the same model. what do i need to look for to see if they are compatible?

also are there any settings I can change (maybe in bios) to make them compatible?

If there are different timing/speed for the RAM, you have to set them to the lowest setting (i.e. 1600/1333 needs to be 1333). Sometimes you can get them to work - other times you can't.
