Hey guys I'm building a gaming PC and i was thinking of the following combos

1. Intel i5 4690 with r9 280x
2. Amd fx 8320(black edition) with r9 290
3. Intel i5 4670 with gtx 770

Note: I will mostly only be doing heavy gaming with one monitor at 1080p. The gtx 970 is too expensive in India so it's not an option.

Solution
The 770 outperforms 280X in most games not much mostly by 1-5 fps. But most of the latest games these days require more than 2 GB VRam for texture's. So r9 280X would be my choice. But you can get a gtx 970 imported from US.Amazon ships worldwide would cost in more or less to 25K.

Hey man. My suggestions are thus:
FX 8320e (lower power consumption&tdp with possible higher overclockability at exactly the same price)
GTX 970
You can pick up a slightly cheaper CPU like the FX 8300 or the FX 8310 (you can find those at Tigerdirect for between 100-120) and pair with the GTX 970. Newegg is currently having a sale with VISACHECKOUT that gives you up to $20 off your purchase (not sure if that's valid in India or how much it would take off, but it's worth a shot).

If you can't afford the GTX 970, then I would suggest a good R9 280X. The R9 290s run super hot and are power hogs for negligible performance increases over the 280x. There is a Gigabyte r9 280x on sale right now on Newegg for about 252 usd, I'm not sure how much that would be in Rupees or kr or whatever currency. lol Sorry. Get one of those with a, Intel cpu like the i5-4690k (currently discounted at newegg almost at the same price as the 4690 non-k) or grab the FX 8350 while it's discounted or get the fx 8370e for better architecture/lower power usage/overclockability. You'll get great performance in nearly everything with any of those combinations.

If the prices vary wildly from here to there and I'd have to pick from your list... I'd say either the i5 4690 and the r9 280x... or fx 8320e with r9 290.. either works.. just depends on how much power consumption you really want and how much heat you can deal with. The 280x will run most things perfectly great. The r9 will do a bit better for a bit higher price/ temperature/ power usage, but not incredibly better. The R9 285 is supposed to be "better" than the r9 280x as it is optimized and has a different architecture, with a supposedly ridiculous performance increase, but it has less hardware, which means it might be negligible unless it has proper software (drivers, which amd tend to mess up sometimes, but so does nvidea). Honestly, they'll all do you well.
