Dear

Recently we have installed, D-Link ADSL router with 4LAN connections + WAN.

But when I try to ping the LAN computer from the WAN Laptop (vice versa as well) which are connected to the same D-Link ADSL modem/router... both are not able to interact.

Solution
Why is the laptop in the WAN port? Is it because you need to access it from outside your own network?

In order for the desktop and laptop to communicate, they both need to be on the LAN. If the laptop has to be on the WAN for remote access, then you need to reverse-NAT the IP address.
