Cooling a tower inside a desk (200mm side fan)

I'm building a new computer in a month or two and I have a major concern about how it's cooling system will work. My current desk is a 7 foot long monster and features an enclosed area next to the space for your chair where you can put a tower. The >case< I have chosen features a large 200mm fan on it's left side door and I was wondering how it would go with air flow being enclosed like it will be. There is about an inch of room from the wall of the space from the fan.

The case features two 140mm fans at the front and one at the back up the top which I'm also concerned about as there is only a small hole behind it for cords and such that lets the hot air out. It's also about six inches from the floor on varnished wood.

The computer will be used for heavy gaming and may be overclocked too. The GPU and CPU both have good fans with them.

Should I put the case on top of the desk so it has airflow or is the spot fine?

PS: How is my >build<?

Case fans will remove hot air from inside the case,so if you fit extra fans it will improve cooling inside the case.

Hi
that 1" of side clearance will be adequate for the side fan and the rear fan will remove air from inside of the case ok.
The only problem you might face is that the air above and behind the case may get warm,if this becomes a problem you could cut a large hole in the back panel of the desk and fit a fan to it,this could either be powered from inside the PC or from a 12 volt (full speed) or 9 Volt (reduced speed) power supply.

If its just for gaming its not worth getting an i7, a i5 4690k will perform just as well in most games for a hundred bucks less. Your build has no power supply. Get a 3.5 inch hard drive instead of a 2.5 inch, the 2.5 is designed for laptops and is much slower. Make sure you have good airflow from the frount of your case to the rear so the cpu cooler gets good airflow.

My build is using an optical drive and 750 watt power supply from another computer. The hard drive will be changed to be 3.5". I did change it but it apparently didn't save. I'm getting the i7 because I plan to use this computer for a long time and want to be able to play games coming out in a few years without having to spend hundreds on upgrades. This is also a reason. >link<

The top of the case features space for two more 140mm fans or a radiator. What could I put there to decrease the temperature around and in the case?

Case fans will remove hot air from inside the case,so if you fit extra fans it will improve cooling inside the case.
You might want to try the system first and if it gets too warm then fit extra top fans.

The only problem you are liable to encounter is warm air inside the desk cavity ,this will not affect the cooling of the PC as you are drawing cool air in from the front.
If you decide that the warm air inside the desk cavity is a problem then you could fit a fan to the rear panel of the desk cavity.

Alright, I'll leave it for now. I'm not happy about putting the case in the space in the desk because it had LED fans and a big window with a fan in it I could look at if it was next to me. But yeah, ok. Thank you both for replying. :)
