I am getting zotac 660 and r7 265 (MSI and sapphire) at almost same price. I want to know which one will be better and more future proof for a 1366×728 monitor.
I also want to know about i3-4130.
I was very sure for this but after seeing at some places that it isn't future proof I got confused as it is just 2 cores but have 4 threads. Should I go for a fx-6000 instead.
Please help really confused.

the r7 265 is mre comparable to a gtx 750 ti and is stronger than a 660 .. the fourth generation i3 is a very capable gaming cpu so there wont be any problems in the setup .. use the r7 265

Jbrown156 I now that there is no problem with i3 but will it be fine for 3 years .
Rolli59 I also read that artice i3 & it is the specific article which made the confusion as you can read the author says it is good for those who might upgrade to faster CPU later. That's made me confused.
And yeah I will go with 660 now.
Please justify me that i3 will be future proof.

the core i3 will be good for maybe two years or so because games are starting to require more than 2 cores now.. even though the 4 threads in the cpu makes up in performance its going to slowly start be not strong enough as the years past .. ii doubt it will last for 3 or 4 years honestly ..

The I3 is just as future proof as the FX6300, the very few games that are really CPU intensive may run better on the FX6300 but it has no upgrade path. Atleast with the I3 there is worth while upgrades (used I5 or I7) down the line if it starts struggling in couple of years.
