I would like to buy an additional internal 4TB drive.
mainly for back-up and play of blu-ray movies.

can i "just plug in" another drive?
does it require any configuration on the motherboard (master slave etc)?
any recommendations for a good 4TB drive?
are there issues w/ access to the entire capacity under win7 64bit Home Premium edition?

I currently have
- Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 ATX LGA1155
- Storage: Intel 520 Series Cherryville 120GB 2.5" Solid State Disk
- Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
- Optical Drive: Samsung SH-222BB/BEBE DVD/CD Writer (to be replaced w/ Blu-Ray Player/Writer)

No configuration to the motherboard. Just shutdown, attach the power and SATA connectors, power up, go to disk management and initialize as a GPT drive and then format.

I would recommend using one of the Intel SATA 3Gbps ports, not the ASMedia controller. If you have nothing on the ASMedia you can disable it in the bios and save a couple seconds off your boot time.

No issues with it as a single partition with your OS and machine. I would go with whichever internal 4TB that you find on sale, it's too early to really know how long they will last. As always, back up important data.
